Kathy Peno, Ph.D.

Kathy Peno, Ph.D. is Professor of Adult Education at the University of Rhode Island. She prepares professional adult educators who teach in adult literacy, the military, higher education, corporations, and the health care fields. Her scholarship focuses on professional learning and skill development from novice to expert, with a focus on mentoring, in particular. She has written, consulted and presented extensively on workforce development, professional development, and mentoring as a vehicle for continuous performance improvement in organizations. She serves on the Board of the Adult Higher Education Alliance (AHEA) and is Treasurer/Executive Committee Member of the Coalition of Lifelong Learning Organizations (COLLO). She holds a Master’s and Ph.D. in Adult Learning and Human Resource Development from the University of Connecticut.
