Matthew Bodah, Ph.D.

Matthew M. Bodah, Ph.D., has been a Professor of Industrial Relations at the University of Rhode Island’s Schmidt Labor Research Center since 1992. He received his Ph.D. in Industrial Relations from Michigan State University. His research has covered a wide range of topics concerning the workforce and workplace, from different systems of labor law enforcement to issues of worker health and safety. In addition to this national-level work, Bodah has been an active researcher of state-level issues. He has worked with the Rhode Island Department of Labor and Training on matters concerning temporary disability insurance and workers compensation and, since 2002, has carried out the state’s biennial survey of child care rates to assist in the determination of subsidy levels under the Child Care Assistance Program.
