Joanne Walsh, Ph.D. is currently Assistant Professor and Assistant Department Chair of Humanities and Social Sciences at New England Institute of Technology. She teaches a range of psychology and sociology courses and conducts research in student success factors and positive psychology. She received her doctorate from New York University in Social Psychology and Quantitative Analysis. Her career began as a Human Factors psychologist at Bell Labs in Holmdel, NJ where she performed usability experiments, competitor analysis and user perception tests. In addition she developed and analyzed Customer Satisfaction surveys and quality evaluations. She joined UTStarcom, a China telecom, to initiate usability analyses on computer applications and to establish a usability lab in Hangzhou. Joanne has also taught at several higher education institutions, including New Yok University, Ramapo College and Kean University.
